The student will also be able to handle everyday situations - in a supermarket, office, train station, parties, airport etc.- |
| Elementary | Present and Past Conditional. Direct and Indirect pronouns. Indefinite Adjectives and Pronouns. Possessive adjectives. Reflexive verbs. Imperative. Build up of VocabularyListening, Reading, Conversation and Writing. | The student will be able to express present and past desires and will be able to correctly use the language in more complex conversations with a greater variety of vocabulary. |
| Intermediate I | Present and Past Subjunctive. Sentences with the Subjunctive. Combined Pronouns. Formal Imperative. Comparative and Superlative Degrees. Simple Past. Relative Pronouns. | The student will learn how to express personal opinions, doubts, hypothesis, wishes, feelings and hopes in the present and in the past. He will expand his grammatical development and acquire more confidence in using the language. Enrichment of vocabulary. Readings from newspaper and magazine articles. Films. Listening, Reading, Conversation and Writing. |
| Intermediate II | Imperfect Subjunctive. "If" clauses. Impersonal Construction. Indirect Speech. Passive Form. Non- Principal Clauses. Reading from newspaper, magazine articles and contemporary authors. Reading and Writing formal letters. Films. Idioms. Listening, Reading, Conversation and Writing. | The student will acquire a complete knowledge of Italian grammar. The progressive refinement of the student's capacities to use the linguistic structures will enable the student to continuously improve communicative capacities. |
| Advanced | Conjunctions, Idioms and Idiomatic Expressions in everyday speech. Gerund, Infinitive and Present Participle. Altered Nouns.Verbs and Pronouns. Reading and Writing formal letters. Reading taken from newspaper and magazine articles and from contemporary authors. Films. Listening, Conversation and Writing. | The use of the Italian language will be spontaneous and correct in the use of the complex structures, in the choice of the vocabulary as well as phonetically correct. |
| Superior levels I and II | Special and complex syntactical structures. Comprehension of various texts, drawn from newspapers, fiction, poetry and plays. Different language registers (formal, informal, jargon etc.) in written and oral contexts. Oral and written reports - by using technical terms related to specific fields. Listening, Reading, Conversation and Writing. | The student will be able to control the use of the language in both social and professional situations. The confidence acquired by the student will render the capability of communicating elegantly and fluently. |
